Hi, I'm Shirley Vick, co-owner of The Doggie Diva. My family has always had a diverse group of animals.  Growing up, we raised everything from fish, birds, cows, sheep to even a groundhog. We had many dogs and even a cat. All my Iife, I have always had at least one dog. At one point I raised Lhasa Apsos. I now have three dogs, 2 Rottweilers and a Miniature Australian Shepherd.

 I volunteer at The SPCA Tampa Bay where I am a Family Dog Trainer, Canine Counselor, a member of the Community Outreach Committee and also a Foster Parent. I assist in The Dudes and Dogs Program, where we bring shelter dogs to the Hillsborough County Justice Center and instruct the residents on how to train these dogs in basic obedience. This is not only rewarding for the animals but also for the boys. This helps to teach the boys to have respect and compassion for animals. I am also a member of the Tampa Bay Disaster Animal Response Team (DART) and qualify for National (DART). I am Certified by The American Red Cross in Animal First Aid and CPR.
